The Challenge
The Fair delivers multiple festivals and live events each year, often across different sites with varying layouts, environmental conditions, and operational requirements. Each event presents unique communication challenges, requiring a radio solution that is not only reliable but also flexible enough to adapt quickly to changing site conditions and event demands.
They needed a trusted radio communications partner capable of supporting a busy annual calendar of events, while maintaining consistent performance and dependable support across all sites.
The Solution
CSE Crosscom provided a flexible short-term radio hire solution tailored to The Fair’s event schedule and operational needs. Across 4–6 festivals per year, CSE Crosscom supplies between 100–250 Motorola Solutions DP4601e radios per event, scaling equipment levels based on site size and complexity.
To ensure smooth delivery, a phased deployment approach was used. A small initial allocation of radios was delivered in advance, allowing teams to establish communications as soon as they arrived on site. The main bulk of equipment was then delivered closer to live show days, ensuring everything was fully prepared when it mattered most.
Where required, CSE Crosscom also supplied repeater systems to enhance coverage across challenging sites. Site visits were offered to assess potential communication issues, alongside advance testing to ensure optimal performance. When requirements changed, CSE Crosscom adapted quickly, providing responsive support and practical solutions throughout the event lifecycle.
The Result
With CSE Crosscom’s support, communication across all sites was clear, reliable, and consistent. Any issues that arose were resolved quickly thanks to fast, effective technical support, allowing event teams to focus on delivery without disruption.
